GOOD IDEAS
1. Single characteristic
Sort items by a single characteristic, such as: colour, shape or size.

2. Odd one out
Group items in sets of 3 or 4 and challenge the learner to find the item which does not belong with the others. Encourage your child to explain the answer given.

3. Compare
Introduce two groups of items that differ in one key characteristic, e.g.: same shape but different colours.

Sort two groups of items by two attributes, e.g.: shapes with 3 and 4 sides.

4. Classifications
Sort images according to classification and explain the attributes used for sorting.
