This is a guitar that you will not see very often.
I built this after I sold all my other guitars in honor of the Strat-Shaped guitars I sold.
I Love the shape of the Stratocaster. I decided to turn it into a small-bodied acoustic guitar of sorts.
It is made from 3mm re-purposed Plywood. The sided are made from the same ply as the top and back, but I chose to break tradition and use vertically cut strips of ply. It was quite a process.
The neck is one from my very first electric guitar. Stained maple. The tuners are old-school, but they work fine.
There is a stabiliser beam running in the inside of the guitar in order to take the force that the strings exert on the structure. I was unsure of how the sides of the guitar was going to handle the stress of the strings. It turned out very good. Very good indeed.
There are three Piezo Disk pickups under the top of the guitar, right underneath the bridge. It sounds very nice plugged in. Unplugged it has a sweet mid-range sound. And it is fairly loud. I recorded it with my phone to get a feel for it... It sounds like an acoustic!
It has GHS 10's strings on it. You can go heavier if you so choose.
As you also noticed, i made the guitar look old, like it's been played for years. I Love it!
Thank you for looking at this piece. Hope you like it.
