The Don Quichotte book (original tale by Miguel de Cervantes) has French text and 120 full page (A4 size) illustrations by Gustave Dore. It's possible that full story is told through the pictures without even reading the words. The book is well bound, solid, very clean and unmarked. There is no shelf wear scuffing on the canvas boards. The dust cover, however, is slightly frayed (topside) and has a few small tears with a 2cm tape repair to the top left side.

The 'Gargantuaen' is written by Francois Rabelais and has been translated into Dutch (Nederlandse vertaling) It is a heavy book with 777 pages and is copiously illustrated by Gustave Dore. The book has a dust wrapper that has a few small stains and tears, and it inhabits a slipcase. There is no shelf wear on the canvas boards and internally the book is very clean and solid with no inscriptions.
