Guy Todd Highveld landscape watercolour and pen and ink circa 1960's

Offered for sale is an attractive small  pen and ink and watercolour painting by well known and listed British/South African Artist Guy Todd. The painting depicts a Highveld scene with three antelope/Springbok silhouetted  on the horizon and a sparse woody scrubland with grasses. It is typical of the artists mature style with its impressionistic and understated detail, subdued palette  and  brisk ,well executed painting and drawing. The artwork is signed in the bottom right of the picture but not dated. Most likely the painting dates to the late 1960's or early 1970's. Guy Todd is a highly regarded landscape artist. His paintings have been sold by high end art auctioneers such as Bonhams London South African sale and Christies UK. He is renowned for his renderings of the Norfolk coast and landscapes in the UK and of course for his picturesque depictions of the South African landscape, Highveld and Cape Coast.

Dimensions including frame : height 33cm ; width 33cm. The painting is framed behind glass with a buff coloured mount board and a gold aluminium frame.
