The Hailea HX series are water pumps designed for aquariums, ponds, filtration return systems, circulation, fountains, wave making and general water movement. These are wet-dry pumps, meaning they can operate either submerged in water or above water in a dry location (with correct plumbing).
Dual-use construction: Can be used underwater (submersed) or above water with a return line.
Freshwater & saltwater safe: Ceramic shaft and quality ABS plastic housing resist corrosion.
Durable build: Ceramic shafts and reinforced casing help withstand long-term operation, including continuous flow.
Quiet & reliable: Designed for continuous, low-noise operation in tanks and systems.
Versatile uses: Water circulation, oxygenation (creating flow), filtration return, fountains, wave creation, water change assist, etc.
Different HX models in the Hailea family have different flow rates, power levels, and lifting heights (how high they can push water):
| Model | Approx Flow | Power | Max Lift | Outlet Size |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| HX-6510 | ~700720 L/h | ~9 W | ~1.2 m | ~12 mm |
| HX-6520 | ~1400 L/h | ~18.5 W | ~1.6 m | ~14.5 mm |
| HX-6530 | ~2600 L/h | ~39 W | ~2.5 m | ~17.5 mm |
| HX-6540 | ~3800 L/h | ~43 W | ~3.0 m | ~20 mm |
| HX-6550 | ~7000 L/h | ~175 W | ~4.8 m | ~25 mm |
Example Hailea HX Pump Models You Can Buy
Hailea HX6520 Pump for Aquariums - mid-range pump (~1400 L/h), good for medium tanks or filter returns.
HAILEA Submersible Pump - HX6530 / Hailea HX6530 Pump for Aquariums -popular stronger option (~2600 L/h) for larger tanks or heavier circulation.
Hailea HX6550 Pump for Aquariums - heavy-duty (~7000 L/h) for large systems or sump returns.
HAILEA HX Wet Dry Pumps - a low-cost series option with flexible use.
Hailea HX4500 Aquarium Water Pump -compact, lower-flow choice.
-Aquarium circulation: Keeps water moving for healthier fish and plants.
-Filter return lines: Great choice for sump systems where water is pumped back to the tank.
-Oxygenation: Flow increases surface movement and oxygen transfer.
-Ponds & fountains: Stronger models can be used outdoors or for garden water features.
-Wave making: In reef or planted setups, circulation simulates natural currents.
Install at or below water level when submersed - it won't self-prime if fully above water without a return system.
Ensure the power cord stays dry if running the pump above water.
Keep the inlet free of debris so flow doesn't get restricted.
Match the flow rate to your tank size: bigger tanks generally need higher L/h.
