This is an individually addressable RGB LED strip. Each one of the 30 LEDS are able to display a different colour at the same time making this strip more versatile than a simple RGB LED strip where all the LEDS can only display the same colour. The heart of this LED strip is the well-known WS2811 IC that is built into each LED.

The use of these LED strips have become widespread because of the endless possibilities they present such as the construction of flexible LED screens, LED walls, advertising boards, entertainment centres and leisure lighting. Special controllers are not required as these strips can easily be driven with your favourite microcontroller. Just one pin of your microcontroller is required. Source code is available for most microcontrollers.
