The text is illustrated with 16 pages of black-and-white photography - "The Flying Carpet is a record of his (the author) flight around the world. In Northern Africa he lived with the Foreign Legion and had a curious experience of the slave dealers of Timbuctoo; in India. He flew to a height of 18,000 feet to photograph Mount Everest; and in Borneo. He was entertained by the head-hunters and presented with a souvenir of a dozen human heads." --  265 pages .
