DESCRIPTION | 'Very lovely' and 'very unusual' are two terms we can apply to this boxed set of a toddler's feeding spoon and mouth scraper. These sets are not often found in hallmarked silver (normally they are plated). The one on offer here is boxed in a black box with a hinged lid and two brass closing clips. The box is custom made with indentations into which the 2 items fit. This set was obviously never used because the 2 pieces are totally unworn and the hallmarks have also never seen the silvercloth and polish. This set was made by the silversmiths Angora from Birmingham in 1943 (the hallmarks testify to this). My scale shows that the sterling silver in this set weight exactly 40 g. See the 6 images which follow, because they describe this lot much better than I can. What's that saying again? - Something like 'A picture is worth a thousand words.' |
CONDITION | Set is in excellent unworn condition. |
Lovely unusual and collectable set. A gift for the mother of that special child or grandchild in your life - or just a great addition to your hallmarked silver collection? |
