Hancock's Rubens Ware 'Pomegranate' by F. X. Abraham Vase

Unusual Hancock's vase in 'Pomegranate' designed by F. X. Abraham. Richly painted with fruit in lovely Rubens Ware colours. The inside of the vase is painted a gorgeous turquoise sea foam blue colour all mottled. An impressive vase in excellent condition. Hancock's Rubens Ware and F. X. Abraham des. backstamp. 

Decorated jug by S. Hancock & Sons in a pattern called "Pomegranate." This was part of the "Rubens Ware" series designed by Francis Xavier Abraham, the art director of the company, during the 1920s. Rubens Ware was designed to compete with similarly decorated pieces by Moorcroft. Hancock ceased production in 1937, making their wares very rare
