This is an outstanding original Victorian engraving newly cleaned and restored, and mounted in an acid free mount. Newly framed in a perfectly matching frame by Infinart. It is unusual to find this engraving with such attractive tints and hand colourings.
Size of engraving is 28 cm by 18 cm. More in generous mount and new frame.
Three tone lithograph that has also been hand tinted. The restorer has rendered the print fresh and clean apart from one or two minor spots and a light stain at the top left border.
Shows Somerset Road with the Presbyterian Church in St. Andrew's Square. Although the church is still there, largely unchanged, Somerset Road has changed a lot in the intervening century and a half! Interestingly the tram track depicted has just been partly excavated and now can be see again on part of Somerset Road.
