A story of revenge, of a judge who sentenced an innocent boy, who was hunted out and forced into a situation from which he could not escape, although he too was not guilty. Brittain in passing a death sentence on young Harry, sets in train the fateful revenge that Harry's brother, Robert, works out, as he first blackmails the publicity hating judge, and then organizes a death that will be blamed on him. The story is the hue and call that Robert arouses, and the trial of the decent Brittain - with the resolution in two letters after the case is complete.
