The safety is automatic upon cocking, and can also be applied manually.

One of the most exciting features of the Gladius is the adjustable power setting option. With a simple turn of the power adjustment knob, you can go from backyard plinking on the low setting, to varmint hunting on the highest setting. Not only does this allow you to maximize your shots per fill, but you get to choose the perfect velocity and power for your target. Depending on which setting you choose, enjoy from 35 up to 50 shots per fill! Yes…50! Using the lower power setting increases the shot count per fill and reduces the report.

The Gladius features Hatsan's QuietEnergy Technology with a fully integrated sound moderator that diminishes overall sound, so this gun is more than quiet enough for backyard shooting.
