HATSAN GALATIAN AUTO PCP AIR RIFLE 5.5MM

Description:

Really fanciful appearance packaged into a traditional shotgun / monte carlo stock appearance. Has a deep wallnut colour w/ horizontally running grainline featuring three differing Turkish wallnut hues layering one another at closer inspection. The checkered panels on this rifle is pronounced both on the handle as well as the fore end of the stock, both sides to suit both right handed and left-handed shooters. The checkering is double row and is rather pronounced. 

The buttplate is quite maleable and has a puffy / cushion texture, especially when a little force is exerted against it. It is faintly textured otherwise to assist in counter-slipping. The comb is not pronounced, featuring a low profile cheekrest, optimal for aiming with the fibre optic sight apertures. The low profile allows for a sleek feel to the rifle, however, your MOA adjustability will be limited and the sights might not be suitable for adjustment of holdover beyond 50 meters. 

The receiver is all-metal and has catching filigree on the left face of said receiver. The safety is a push-through / cross-bolt type that internally blocks the trigger. The trigger itself is gold plated and the lack of through-holes on the polymer trigger guard is indicative that this rifle does not feature a QUATTRO trigger system and is unfortunately not adjustable. The whole of the lower frame in fact, is polymer.

The removable rear sight is adjustable for windage and elevation - each increement of adjustment produces a positive clicking sound. The sight module itself can be removed tool-free from the rail by means of the thumb screw on the right. It is picatinny mounted w/ a crossbolt, so your sight is removed and reinstalled w/out any adjustment made, you should be able to reinstall the rear sight w/ the factory zero still applicable, assuming its reinstalled on the same rail it was removed from. Just make sure the module is tightened to the rearmost of the slotted position. Otherwise, this rifle does feature a Picatinny and dovetail rail on either end of the receiver; 85mm rear and 50mm on the front, allowinf for ample room to mount your rings. Please note that, due to the breech and its positioning, that you will not be able to use a one piece mount ring.

In terms of attachements - The rifles comes off of the factory block w/ a three-slot Picatinny rail, retained securely by three countersunk steel screws. This would normally be for mounting your Picatinny-mounted bipod. Behind this and near the toe of your rifle stock, you have factory-installed sling swivels for a one inch (1") width sling. Whilst out of the box you will receive a free HATSAN branded sling, it is elementary and will not last you years. It is strongly advised to acquire a new one before the current one, if used, breaks. You don't necessarily want to sit with a broken sling in the middle of the field.

The air reservoir sits flush with the design of the gun, featuring the face of the gauge on the frontal end and the rotating filling port collar behind it. The filling probe this rifle uses is the standard brass HATSAN PCP one. This air reservoir, as a point of interest, is removable by threading it out. This can be done even if the air reservoir is fully pressurized still. This makes trouble shooting / leak-checking on your air reservoir a breeze. You'll just need a 12mm diameter steel rood wrapped w/ masking tape or some other soft tape and a bench vise. Also of interest - all HATSAN PCP rifles have hydro test certification on them, stated in month-year. Most of them should have the been hydro tested on the same year as purchase, maybe a year thereupon if the stock has been sitting.

The barrel is shrouded, giving it a very intimidating appearance. The fact that the 5.5mm barrel is receded, helps to give this rifle a seemingly 12ga end appearance (14.5mm, as opposed to an actual 12ga shotgun bore, which is anything from 18.5mm - 20mm (overbore))
