Album notes More than three years after her debut, THIS IS WHO I AM, R&B vocalist Heather Headley returned with 2006's IN MY MIND, another strong set of passionate tunes that focuses on the vicissitudes of love. A Broadway veteran and Trinidadian native, Headley incorporates little of these influences into her pleasantly straightforward style, with the exception of the dancehall-infused "Rain," featuring Shaggy. Other standout songs include the acoustic-tinged title track, the slow jam "Wait a Minute," and the shuffling "Losing You." Although Headley doesn't break much new ground here, she continues to showcase her emotive vocals in the light of solid R&B/pop tunes, making this an album that will easily appeal to fans of her earlier work.
