DESCRIPTION AND CONDITION
DESCRIPTION	A lovely and amazingly realistic original oil painting of TWO GIANT KINGFISHERS. Painted by the well known South African wildlife artist from the Waterberg HEATHER KLETTE. The painting is done on artist board (fine treated canvass on hardboard) and it is framed in a dark frame with inner frame. The artist has signed the artwork at bottom right and also dated it (19)91. The artwork is in horizontal format and measures 430 x 530 mm in the frame and the artwork alone measures 310 x 410 mm. You can see the painting as it is sold in the image above. There are four more images and further particulars below. Please have a look at them and ask a question if there is anything you are unsure about.
CONDITION	Both the artwork and frame are in very good condition and it can be hung as is.

NOTES
A very beautiful realistic painting which is anatomically totally correct by an excellent artist. It is suggested that you research the artist and her works on the internet if this artwork interests you. The Giant Kingfisher depicted on the painting is by far the largest of the kingfishers which can measure up to 48 cm in length when mature. The beak is very long and can reach close to half the length of the bird which almost looks like a beak with wings when flying overhead. Both birds depicted on the painting are males. The female can be easily distinguished from the male because she has red feathers on the lower abdomen whereas the male's red feathers cover the chest section. It is said that the male giant kingfisher wears a red T-shirt and the female wears red hot pants.
