These pulleys are constructed from heavy duty steel.

This long life steel pulley is fully riveted, has a case hardened race with nine ball bearings and is factory lubricated.

* 3/8" bore size is the diameter of bolt it will accommodate
* Width of the pulley at the bore is ¾"
* Accepts cables as large as 1/4'" diameter

Garage doors have either torsion springs or extension springs to help lift the door weight. Extension springs, or stretch springs, expand in length when the door closes and they have a pulley attached with a clevis to it. The cable goes around this pulley, see photos above. If you have this type of spring, one of the most common garage door hardware problems is worn out pulleys. There are four pulleys on a garage door extension spring set-up, two bolted in a stationary position at the front wall above either side of the track's curve, and two pulleys with yokes attached to the extension spring(s) above each side track.

If your pulleys wobble they should be replaced before they totally wear out and bind up the door.

If one pulley is going bad the others will most likely wear out soon also.
