* PLEASE NOTE: To retract the expanded baton back into the handle takes a bit of 'brut power' - for obvious reasons retraction back into the handle should not be an easy task.  The difficult retraction is to prevent the extended baton sliding back into the handle while swinging it at an attacker.  To retract an extended baton: hold the baton handle and firmly hit it towards the ground (at a vertical angle to the ground), repeat the action to retract the next baton segment
