Heavy Solid Brass Mortar And Pestle Apothecary Style
Classic solid brass mortar and pestle set in the traditional apothecary style, ideal for grinding herbs, spices, garlic or pepper. The mortar has a flared shape with simple turned band decoration and a stable footed base, while the pestle is nicely balanced and comfortable to use.
Made from heavy solid brass and well weighted, giving excellent stability when grinding. These practical kitchen tools were widely used in pharmacies and kitchens and also make an attractive decorative piece for a farmhouse or vintage style kitchen.
Likely produced around the mid twentieth century when solid brass kitchenware of this style was commonly manufactured.
