The fashion and fad for turning interesting old cutlery into jewellery has been around for a while and remains popular with those looking for something a little different to run-of-the-mill jewellery. The genuine article is becoming scarcer as a result of this run of popularity. I brought this piece back from England, specifically from a vintage jeweller in London. It is really solid, weighing in at 19,4 grams. The width of the ring is 22 mm on the right head where the decorative section is, narrowing to 7 mm at the back of the shank. It is ring size 7.5 (P in British and SA sizing). The metal itself is thick - 2mm width. The decoration section is tactile with a true 3D pattern, and there's even a hint of the pattern on the inside of the shank. With no hallmarks, I don't know whether it is silver or sterling silver. The jeweller seemed to think it is a mix of both. Either way, it has held onto its shine for many years and is particularly lovely for its showy display.
