A member of the Brassicaceae or Cruciferae families, also known as the crucifers, the mustard family or cabbage family is a family of flowering plants (Angiosperms). The name Brassicaceae is derived from the included genus Brassica. Cruciferae is an older name, meaning "cross-bearing", because the four petals of their flowers are reminiscent of a cross. Growing to 50cm this linear leaved annual has beautiful mauve flowers and grows to 50cm. Sow autumn, however in the cooler areas of SA, it has been known to do well year round.
