A VINTAGE BOXED PLANE MODEL KIT BY HELLERS OF THE US NAVY GRUMMAN F6F-5 HELLCAT. IN ORIGINAL BOX. SCALE 1:72. PACKAGE NOT SEALED BUT CONTENTS APPEAR COMPLETE.

The Grumman F6F-5 Hellcat was a highly successful U.S. Navy carrier-based fighter aircraft of World War II, designed to counter the Japanese Zero. It was a powerful and rugged aircraft, featuring a Pratt & Whitney R-2800 engine, a 2,000+ horsepower rating, a robust airframe with folding wings, and six .50 caliber machine guns. The F6F-5 was an improved variant with an updated engine cowling, a new windscreen, and stronger tail surfaces. It achieved an exceptional combat record, accounting for a high percentage of enemy aircraft shot down and serving effectively in both air-to-air and ground attack roles.
