The badge consists of the “Star of the Order of the Thistle”, superimposed upon an eight pointed star, of which the topmost point had been replaced by Queen Victoria’s Crown.  On the “Star of the Order of the Thistle” is a strap inscribed “Cape Town Highlanders” and it is surrounded by a laurel wreath.

White metal helmet and sabretache  plate, Owen 211, 134 mm x 114 mm, worn 1885 – 1902, centre voided.
