Henri Matisse Hand signed Etching Sleeping Model, with COA  (#5 of 25)

 

This Henri Matisse gravure “Sleeping Model” is the #5 gravure of a numbered and limited edition set of 25 gravures that have been handsigned by Henri Matisse as certified by the Certificate of Authenticity (COA) coming with the gravure. 

Format: Actual Image Plate Size is 10" x 6 1/2".  Actual Full Image French Archival Paper Plate Size measures 16” x 11”suitable for framing.  Medium:  Hand pulled Gravure (engraving/etching in blue Tusche). This Edition Size is very small and has only 25 prints in the series.  This particular print is Numbered No. 5 out of 25 in the series. 

It is hand signed in pencil by the artist Henri Matisse on the bottom right hand side of the plate, as well as hand signed in pencil  #5/25 on the left hand side of the plate as shown.  The French engraver Deluent did this print in Paris, France in 1954 with his copyright mark directly underneath his signature as shown on the original COA. This work is fully documented in numerous French Archival and Catalogue Raisonnes.
