Delighted to offer this superb, large, still life oils on board by the South African Artist Henry John Dykman (1893 – 1972), who has signed the painting in the lower right hand corner.

The picture depicts a group of silver vessels.  There is a silver tray, a large, ornate silver Tea pot together with two smaller ornate bowls.  The picture is completed by a candle holder with a very realistic burning candle.

It is very difficult to paint silver and have it look realistic and the artist has succeeded spectacularly.  He has also captured the reflection of the large ornate silver vessel in the polished tray.

The painting is still in the original frame.
