Herkimer diamonds are not actually diamonds, but double-terminated quartz crystals discovered within exposed outcrops of dolomite in and around Herkimer County, New York and the Mohawk River Valley. Herkimer Diamond quartz crystals measure 7.5 on the Moh hardness scale, giving the real diamond a close race. They are naturally faceted, each having eighteen facets and 2 points.

It is believed that Herkimer Diamond, with its pure, crystal light, clears the chakras, opening channels for spiritual energy to flow. It stimulates conscious attunement to the highest level and is particularly helpful in activating and opening the Crown and Third Eye Chakras.
