What is a HID/xenon conversion kit

HID, High Intensity Discharge, refers to lighting technology that relies on an elecrtical charge to ignite xenon gas in a sealed bulb, similar to the lighting phenomenon in the sky. HID creates light by igniting an electrical discharge between two electrodes in an tiny quartz capsule filled with xenon gas. HID light is also called xenon light, refering tothe gas inside the bulb.

- More light output: A 35W HID light source produces up to 3x the lumens(measure of light) at the light source when compared to a 55W halogen bulb.

- Pure Sunlight: The colour temperature of HID lighting is more closely linked to the colour temperature ofnatural daylight. Halogen lights appear yellowish.

- Greater visibility: The ombination of more light output and whiter colour makes for much better visibility in most night time driving conditions

- Longer life: HID lamps will last on average over 3 times longer than any halogen bulb, HID bulbs also produce less heat than halogen, so you don't have to worry about your headlight or harnesses melting
