HID XENON HEADLIGHT BULBS  - WHY THEY ARE THE SOLUTION OF THE FUTURE

There is an extremely good reason why HID Xenon light bulbs are making such inroads into the car market. There are 2 reasons - they give a much better light output for the same energy input and they last up to 7 times longer than their Halogen counterparts (and they don't "fade" with time - seen the all silver Halogen bulb after a time?).  HID bulbs are also much more efficient than Halogen as they convert much more of the energy into light and much less into heat - which is wasted anyway.  Many folk fit 100 or 120 Watt Halogens to give them better lighting - and it does - for a while and then the additional heat destroys the reflective surface in the headlight and the light quality reduces dramatically as the picture shows. Unfortunately fitting HID's does not reverse this process but because their heat output is so much lower, they do not damage the reflectors.

We specialize in full HID kits with a light colour of 4300K which is basically ice-white with a very slight blue tinge.  The higher "temperature" bulbs are increasingly LESS light efficient with the 12,000K one approaching a near violet colour but having a light output close to that of a Halogen bulb. These higher K bulbs are available as special orders and require a deposit.

All the kits are comprehensively tested prior to shipping and include all the normal  parts needed to perform the conversion with a tips sheet and some small but useful extra's included based on our experience. All products are to ISO 9001-2000 and are based on the Philips design. They are waterproof and fully electromagnetically shielded.

The price for a full kit consisting of 2 HID bulbs, 2 ballasts, harnesses and brackets and useful accessories including VAT is as follows:

H1, H3, H7 35 Watt kits - R 699-00 (55Watt kit R 1050-00)

H4 35 Watt kit with hi/lo pulse motor  R1050-00 (55 Watt kit R1250-00 - no stock at present)

We strongly recommend courier door to door service to avoid shipping damage and losses - the price is R100 for all major centres.
