Hardcover published 1936 by William Blackwood and Sons, assumed first edition, no jacket. The cloth boards are square and solid, with some wear to edges, and minor marking to the spine. There is some foxing / spotting sporadically throughout the book, and on the external page edges. The frontispiece sketch of Sidambe, daughter of Lobengula, is loose but present. There is some creasing to corners of some of the pages, but they are otherwise clean and unmarked. All photographic plates are present and well bound.
