The Hikvision DS-7108HGHI-M1/T 8-Channel 1080p Lite Mini DVR is a compact hybrid recorder for residential, retail and small-business CCTV systems. It connects up to eight analogue cameras and supports HDTVI, AHD, HDCVI and conventional CVBS formats, making it suitable for new installations and upgrades to existing coaxial systems. Motion Detection 2.0 distinguishes people and vehicles from general movement, while Hik-Connect provides supported remote access from a phone or tablet.

• Filters unnecessary motion events. Deep-learning Motion Detection 2.0 classifies human and vehicle activity across all eight analogue channels, helping reduce events caused by leaves, lighting changes and other background movement.
• Works with several camera formats. The eight BNC inputs accept compatible HDTVI, AHD, HDCVI and CVBS cameras, allowing different analogue technologies to be used with one recorder.
• Supports hybrid system expansion. Connect two compatible IP cameras alongside the analogue channels, or convert analogue channels to accommodate up to ten IP cameras at resolutions up to 5MP.
• Uses hard-drive space efficiently. H.265 Pro+ compression reduces recording storage and network-bandwidth requirements compared with older compression formats, subject to the camera scene and recording settings.
• Carries audio over coaxial cable. Compatible HDTVI cameras can transmit video and audio through the same coaxial connection, reducing the need for separate microphone cabling.
• Provides local and remote viewing. HDMI and VGA outputs operate simultaneously for on-site monitoring, while the Ethernet connection supports remote access through Hik-Connect.
• Makes footage easier to locate. Smart search and human or vehicle event filtering help you find relevant recordings without reviewing every general motion event.
• Supports eight-channel playback. Review recordings from all eight analogue channels simultaneously when investigating activity across different areas.

Did You Know?

• This is a hybrid DVR rather than a recorder restricted to one analogue signal format. It can accept several common coaxial camera technologies and supported IP cameras, which is useful when upgrading a site in stages.
• The recorder does not include built-in footage storage. A compatible surveillance hard drive must be installed and formatted before recordings can be retained. The DVR accepts one SATA hard drive with a capacity of up to 4TB.
• 1080p Lite is an encoding mode and should not be confused with full native 1080p recording. The recorder accepts compatible 1080p camera signals, but its main recording mode for those channels is 1080p Lite at up to 15 frames per second.

Compatibility & App Support

The recorder works with compatible Hikvision HDTVI cameras and supported AHD, HDCVI, CVBS and IP cameras. IP camera support includes H.265+, H.265, H.264+ and H.264 encoding at resolutions up to 5MP.

The Hik-Connect app provides supported remote live viewing, playback and event access through an internet-connected mobile device. The DVR must be connected to a router through its wired Ethernet port and configured correctly for remote access.

A monitor or television can be connected through HDMI or VGA. Professional installation and secure password configuration are recommended.
