This series of mixed media artworks incorporates Imphepo, a sacred plant deeply rooted in African tradition, used to cleanse spaces, ward off negative energies, and open pathways to spiritual connection. By weaving Imphepo into the artwork, I explore the breaking of traditional barriers where a cultural practice becomes both medium and message. The piece invites the viewer to not only encounter untraditional material used but also to sense the layered meanings of protection, renewal, and spiritual presence that Imphepo carries.
