Frankfurt, May 1937. The Hindenburg is the pride of Nazi Germany. The largest zeppelin ever made. The airship has only one weak spot: due to an American ban on the export of helium, the Hindenburg is filled with highly flammable hydrogen. Just before the Hindenburg begins its final transatlantic voyage, the young engineer Merten Kröger discovers that there is a bomb on board.
But no one believes him. Even his beloved Jennifer, who travels to America with her mother on the Hindenburg, has doubts. Can Merten convince the crew and trace the bomb? The zeppelin is approaching New Jersey. Radio reporters and photographers wait on the ground. A colossal disaster threatens...
