The opening of the first parliament of the Union of South Africa in 1910 was celebrated by a pageant held over two days. This historical book gives an overview of the pageant, from the First Episode where Bushmen as the oldest race in South Africa execute a dance with bows and arrows, to the Ninth Episode when the Pageant ends with the singing of the Te Deum and a procession of historical Portuguese, Dutch and English figures. With reproductions of old photographs, drawings and paintings.

First published by the Pageant Committee in 1910. Condition: Very worn with marks and foxing, but all text clearly readable. No front cover as such, first page blank. Edges worn.
