There are 40 coins in the hoard and most are in bad condition but all are silver coins.

Most were struck in higher pureness’s of silver e.g. of the 21 British Three Pence’s included, 18 were struck in .925 sterling silver and only 3 in .500 silver. These 3d coins date from the Victorian, Edwardian and Georgian eras.

There is also a British Groat of 1843 and other Victorian silver coins from countries like Mauritius, India and the Straits Settlements as well as an Italian silver coin from 1863.

Other coins are from Africa, the Americas and the Far East – all struck in silver but the condition is not good and damaged.
