RADIANT HONEY-HUED BALTIC AMBER AND STERLING SILVER BRACELET. 925. VINTAGE PIECE

Amber remains a firm favourite with jewellers and this vintage bracelet features a particularly lovely colour combination of baltic amber. There are 7 polished oval Baltic amber cabochons altogether set into the sterling silver. The beauty of amber is that each natural gemstone is different - the colours run the gamut from golden honey through amber, oranges and, in certain light, a deep toffee colour. Each cabochon is a marvel of colour and depth, reflecting interesting inclusions that create a whole universe within each gemstone. The amber cabochons are bezel set horizontally, with a collar of sterling silver which is then bordered by a decorative swirl above and below that then links to the next one with a large cable link, allowing the bracelet to articulate and follow the shape of the wrist for comfort. The catch is a lobster clasp and it bears the 925 hallmark. It weighs 6,02 grams, which is not enormously heavy for a bracelet. The bezel settings holding each piece of amber are fairly dainty at 5,5 mm wide and 22 mm long  but it does make it nice and easy to wear. A glorious colour combination and interesting detail on the links make it an attractive piece. I really don't know much about this one as it came from a vintage estate. The links show their age with buff marks and darkened areas on the more ornate raised detailing. Nonetheless, a pretty piece.
