This study examines some 400 common herbs and shrubs, and about 100 common trees, showing a part of the rich honeybee flora of Ethiopia. Besides the descriptions of plants and their value to the bees, emphasis is given to the cultural, traditional and medicinal value of these honeyplants. The book is meant for individual farmers, and should also provide development agents, beekeepers and extension service personnel with a source of pictorial and factual data on nectar- and pollen-producing plants. Providing the farmer with the option of planting nectar- and pollen-producing trees and shrubs, honeybee flora should contribute to the farmer's annual cash crop possibilities, supplement dietary needs, and enhance the total health and welfare of the family.
