The 800VGT is a true all-in-one home gateway with powerful functionalities designed to realize the requirement for economical VoBB/VoIP calls, high-throughput VPNs and mobile and high-speed secure data communications.

The device sports an ADSL2+ port for linkup to the DSL access network, but also allows for setup of a WAN port, for connecting to other forms of broadband, like WiMAX or IBurst. The features/services included in this device, like voice or VPN can thus be delivered to the end customer on any of the mentioned broadband services.

The device supports multiple simultaneous virtual circuits & VLAN partitioning for DSL & other broadband access type respectively, allowing for service separation across all carrier platforms. The Voice, Data and Video triple-play goal is easily attainable without a complicated setup or additional hardware. Compounded services (multiple services provisioned on the same virtual circuit) are also a reality, allowing most efficient use of carrier resources thus maximizing service/port ratios.

The gateway includes a full VPN server/client module, supporting IPSec, L2TP and PPTP protocols, allowing users to establish encrypted private connections over the Internet. The point-to-point design of the VPN module negates the use of any other hardware.

The world-leading Gateway Least Cost Routing feature enables the dynamic selection of the most economical VoIP service for any particular type of VoBB call – local, National or International.

The 800VGT houses two FXS ports offering dual lines for making VoIP calls using traditional standard analog handsets. The FXO port enables users to access the PSTN network using the same handsets as used for VoIP. Failover to PSTN during power-outages and programmable dialplans allow for seamless switching between the VoIP network and the PSTN network. This means that emergency services will always be available, even in the scenario where the VoIP infrastructure is out of commission.

The 800VGT also boasts unparalleled firewall security features such as SPI, DoS attack prevention, and URL Content Filtering, while the Quality of Service feature ensures a smooth net connection for inbound and outbound data with minimal traffic congestion.

The 800VGT has been tested to be interoperable with various Remote Access Configuration Services (TR-069) such as:

The imbedded Auto Provisioning module enables service providers to rollout complicated services to end-customers, with minimal effort. The HTTPS protocol is used to link the CPE to an Auto Provisioinig server, from where customer specific information and scripting is obtained to setup the customer’s device. No technician from the service provider’s office needs to handle the device. This translates to great savings of the very precious technical resources while also exponentially improving customer experience. Intelligent remote firmware upgrades are easily performed using Auto Provisioning, which further alleviates workload from the technical department.

The 800VGT has also been implemented on various VoBB platforms world-wide. Clarent’s C5CM and Broadsoft’s softswitch forms the basis of most VoBB platforms used and sets the trend for new platform/solution development.
