A basic house blessing
There is no right or wrong way to a house blessing. This is just a suggestion, feel free to do things differently if you wish.
Light your candle to invite a light energy into the home, open all your doors and windows. Then light your smudge stick and blow out the flame. Starting with yourself let the smoke waft over you. Then starting from left to right go to each room and walk around, using the up and down motion with the feather in one hand and the smudge stick in the other waft the smoke around all four corners of each room. While you are doing this you can start placing your intention or if you prefer, you can say a little prayer.
"To the Divine Spirit (or Universal Energy, Supreme One, etc.), I summon love, harmony, peace, and prosperity into our home. May we be blessed with good health, happiness, success, and abundance. May this home be a sacred dwelling for us and our children. May those who visit us feel peace and love. I decree that this home is now shielded from harm, illness, or misfortune. When you get back to where you started put your smudge stick in the Abalone shell in a safe place and let it either smoulder out or you can put it out. Give thanks and blow out your candle. You can use the smudge stick over and over again, depending on how big you space is.
In addition you can use the white sage spray it cleanses and connects with the high energies, you heart and dispels negative energy. Spray a few times in your home or space for a beautiful fragrance and energy.
Light a incense or the Palo Santo stick from time to time to continuously clear out negative energies in the background.
