First Edition, Collins, 1969,  Hardback with removable protective plastic wrap - Biographical - 192pp.

When Howard Spring dies in 1965, letters from all over the world poured into his Cornish home. The novelist whose books had sold millions of copies had made friends among his readers everywhere. His wife had now written an affectionate memoir of him, drawing largely upon his own autobiographical writings, some of which have not been published before.

No one is better qualified to do so for throughout their long and happy marriage Mrs Spring shared her husband's work, typing every bit of his writing. South Wales, Manchester and Cornwall- the places he knew best- are also the settings of his books. Mrs Spring now fills in many intimate details of her husband's life in all three places, and relates his background and experience to such well loved novels as My Son, My Son! and Fame is the Spur.
