When the deposit of this remarkable gemstone was discovered it triggered a big debate in the gem world as to whether the new find was Quartz or Amethyst?

A little academic as far as I am concerned because the Amethyst is, of course, a Quartz.

Of one thing I am sure, they are so very very uniquely beautiful. 

There is an almost ethereal beauty about them that cannot be defined by mere words.

They are almost ‘opalesque’ in appearance, with astonishing depth of colour that seems almost bottomless.

The orange fires glittering within draw you into the gemstone like a vortex of the purest beauty.

There is nothing even remotely like them in the gemstone world.
