Querétaro: the Cradle of Opal Mining
In this region the opal deposits are located mainly in the mountain ranges of three municipalities: Columbus, Tequisquiapan and Ezequiel Montes.

The stunning Opal on auction here is from the mine of La Trinidad in Tequisquiapan. It has beautiful life within, and sparkles with a fire that is rare in the Opal.

Mexican opals are unlike other opals, they were born in volcanic rock rather than sedimentary sands, and fire opals can be the colors of flame, bright yellows and tangerines and deep gllowing reds.
