"Dr Hromník is an historian and researcher working on the origins of the Quena (Otentottu alias Hottentot) and Bantu-speaking peoples of Africa. His research project, sponsored by the Chairman's Fund Educational Trust of Anglo American and De Beers, has revealed unprecedented vistas of Africa's early history. Dr Hromník originates from Slovakia and is an American citizen. Bom in Hrabušice, matriculated from JSŠKPTJNHSSRHSNP* in Spišská Nová Ves; obtained MA degree in African history and Portuguese at Charles University in Prague, MA and Ph.D. in African, South Asian and Latin American history at Syracuse University in Syracuse, NY, USA. Fulbright scholar 1971-1972; Author of Indo-Africa: Towards a New Understanding of the History of Sub-Saharan Africa (Cape Town: Juta, 1981) and numerous articles; Director of the 'History in the Veld' project at Mgwenya College of Education in KaNyamazane, Mpumalanga. His field research has brought to light numerous ancient Indo-African temples and observatories in the gold fields of Komatiland (Mpumalanga - Swaziland - N. Zululand - Mozambique) and Zimbabwe, as well as in the Karoo and other parts of southern Africa.
