Huernia stapelioides
This Huernia is mostly found in the Polokwane district, but has also been spotted near Pretoria, Nelspruit and even in the Pongola region. It has blue/green angular stems which are four sided. The plants we are selling here where originally collected by Bruce Bayer (a well known succulent expert)in 1998 near the town Stegi at the foot of the Lebombo mountains.
We also have plants available from a Pietersburg collection which differs quite a lot from the Stegi ones (same price, same size)
The flowers of H. stapelioides are somewhat smaller then most other Huernias, but they make up for that by having a very long flowering season. At our nursery in the Cape the first flowers usually start in late November and new flowers will continue to appear all the way into late summer (March)
Plants offered are rooted cuttings of a fair size, ready to be potted into a 12cm pot.
