Huge Life Size Solid Sterling Silver Pansy Shell Pendant. 56.4 grams of solid silver!!

Pendant weighs 56.4 grams. 62 mm wide and 55 mm high. Excellent investment collectible, very unusual. Wears very comfortably despite its size.

This is a solid sterling silver pendant of a Pansy Shell cast life size by the lost wax casting method.

This type of shell is only found in one place in the entire world: a few beaches in an area called the Garden Route on the South African coast.

I went for a long walk with my daughter aged six and my son aged seven on a deserted beach between Sedgefield and Knysna.

We were lucky enough to find two of these shells, the first I have ever found. My daughter decided to keep hers. I used mine to make this silver pendant. We looked for ages to get one for my son as well but just could not find another. Needless to say there were tears.

Pendant is 55 mm high and 62 mm wide ( over 2 inches each way ).  Hangs well, quite high to display the beauty of the piece. Came out great in casting with wonderful detail both sides.

Most pansy shell pendants are little itty bitty ones without this kind of detail or of this exotic type. This piece is special.
