Sculptor Charles Noke
The Moor is a tall, proud figure of a man from the lands of North Africa. Perhaps he was one of the Moorish rulers of Spain for those many centuries. His face carries a look of fierce determination. His stance in hooded cape with arms crossed is one of bravery and stoicism. He was created by Charles Noke for Royal Doulton of England in the 20th Century and is a Prestige Figurine. Royal Doultons limited edition Prestige figures exemplify the highest quality, craftsmanship, and artistry in figure making. More than just collectables, Prestige figures are genuine works of art that can take months to create and decorate in detail. Each piece is handmade to order by the Royal Doulton artisans in England. Each limited edition is individually numbered and the moulds are broken once an edition is fully produced.
This piece is from the Prestige line. The figure was modeled by the noted artist Charles Noke in 1952. It is marked underfoot by Royal Doulton and hand lettered in the title.
