Description: Hungarian Bakelite Telephones x 2
Item No:
Origin: Hungary
Circa Approx: 1950’s
Condition: Alive !
There are two of the same model telephone.
The first telephone is marked on the images with no.1 in red.
Telephone 1 has been tested on the local network and can make and receive calls.
For its age, and the material that it was made from, it is in good condition.
It has two chips out of the bakelite casing on the front left and back right corners.
These chips do not disturb the eye.
The number slot has a small piece chipped off.
Of the rubber cable-sleeves are slightly perished.
The dial is a little slow but with use speeds up.
A technician will be able to tension the spring to improve the action of the dial.
The second telephone is marked on the images with no.2 in red.
This telephone has been tested on the local network.
It received the dial tone after which it became silent.
My guess is that one of the cables leading into the handset is severed.
The casing of the telephone at the point of the dial is cracked.
Of the rubber cable-sleeves are slightly perished.
The dial speed is normal.
One really nice telephone can be made-up using parts from both.
Shipping will probably be R52.00.
