OAK LEAF HYDRANGEA -HYDRANGEA quercifolia
One of the most handsome plants for landscape designers. The leaves do roughly resemble giant oak leaves being shiny dark green, nice purple, red, or orangish brown in fall. White flowers in upright clusters to 30cm in early summer. It has nice brown exfoliating bark and spreads by stolons to form moundlike colonies. It likes moist acid organic laden well-drained soils in full sun or partial shade, the edge of woodlands is ideal.
