Hymenocallis pimana the Pima Spider Lily, discovered in the Sierra Madre Occidental mountains of Chihuahua and Sonora, Mexico, where it grows in large colonies near waterways. One of the showiest spider lilies around: a tight, fast-offsetting clump topped with hundreds of white, night-fragrant flowers with narrow perianth segments and a prominent corolla.

Flowers in early summer on scapes to about 45 cm, going dormant over winter. Full sun to part sun despite its wet mountain origins, it's proven surprisingly drought-tolerant once established and does well even in dry, well-drained spots. Good as a feature clump or massed planting; the flowers are strongly fragrant at night.
