THIS VASE/EWER WAS SOLD TO ME AS 19thC FAMILLE VERTE, POSSIBLY A SOUVENIR FROM THE " GRAND TOUR " BEAUTIFULLY HANDPAINTED WITH FIGURES WITHIN CARTOUCHES, IT HAS BEEN FURTHER DECORATED WITH FOUR APPLIED RAISED, RELIEF SALAMANDERS, WITH TRACES OF GOLD PAINT. SALAMANDERS ARE  CREATURES THAT EXIST IN SHALLOW WATERS AND MUDDY AREAS.THE VASE/EWER HAS A DECORATIVE HANDLE ON EITHER SIDE, SHAPED AS FU DOGS, ONE HAS DAMAGE.  EVEN THOUGH DAMAGED THIS IS A BEAUTIFUL ITEM AND WORTHY OF DISPLAY. HEIGHT 23cm, WEIGHT 2,356kg.  UPDATE....I THINK THE RIM OF THE VASE WAS DAMAGED AT SOME TIME AND WAS SANDED DOWN TO THE PRESENT SHAPE ????
