I. Thesen 1953 South African Studio Glazed Clay Figurative Group

Description
Original South African studio glazed clay sculpture dated 1953 and impressed I. Thesen to the base. Depicts two working men in an industrial genre scene, one seated holding an instrument or tool, the other leaning forward in conversation. Finished in an opaque white glaze over clay body with strong sculptural modelling and expressive character detail.

Condition
Great vintage condition. No cracks observed. Minor age-related surface marks consistent with a 1953 studio piece.
