Before the pickups get involved, the tone starts with your bass' tonewoods. For the SR405EPBDX, Ibanez chose a nyatoh body. Nyatoh, sometimes called nato, has gained a reputation for its warm, mid-forward character that's oh-so-similar to mahogany. The body comes bolted to a 5-piece maple and walnut neck that adds an extra helping of top-end shimmer.
